*notes as I go*
- Cool intro, love the rhythm you set up
- Good job introducing new textures and still keeping it ambient.
Not a bad little piece.

*notes as a listen*
- Nice, smooth intro. Especially like the bass drum/bells.
- Beautiful haunting chorale/string work. So ethereal.
- Nice introduction of the flute.
- Aux. percussion is very effective, good cymbal/gong(?) work.
- ...haven't found anything to nitpick yet...=P
- Ok, I feel sort of drawn to a climax, but we never really get to it. There's a lot of anticipation to nothing. (as in minimal instruments).
- I feel the ending could have been more powerful, but that's just my opinion.
Overall..wow. Amazing piece.
5/5, 10/10
Author's Response:
Thank you for reviewing. I expected the ending would attract attention for lacking a big finale orchestration, but I deliberately avoided giving it a big ending. The "journey" itself is supposed to be grand, but the end is a return to nothing, so to speak, a quiet return to oblivion.

*notes as I listen*
- Horns seem to blast, yet its at a low volume..kind of distracting.
- Percussion has a good feel.
- 1:11 Could be so powerful, but I'm guessing your software has limitations. (Been there, don't feel bad =P)
- Keep expecting a variation, or key change.
- Brass sounds much more in place near the end. Good job.
- The ending seemed a little...odd. Seemed out of place.
Overall, not too bad! :)
7/10, 4/5.
Author's Response:
hey thanks for the good review man! sorry for the late response, i dont look at this account too much anymore. I've moved to here: www.s3c.newgrounds.com
-thats a good point, never even thought about that but I can definetly see what you mean. The horns have their distinct boisterous crackling timbre that sounds at high velocities, yet arent loud enough as they naturally should be....hmm, i'd have to look into the volume levels again. Don't think I messed around with the default volumes much :P Might also be because I layered more string instruments than brass.
-thanks :) probably the percussion was the best part about this track
-99% sure its my fault, not the software's :P any suggestions to make that part more powerful?
-maybe a short modal switch if anything, dont think this piece needs a key change.
-well thanks, i noticed (now) thats its a little stronger near the ending section
-hmm, i personally dont see anything wrong with the ending, mind clarifying? other than it was less layered than other parts, but that was completely intended.
Thanks for the review once again man! I was extending this piece a few months If (99.9% chance I won't) I go back and work on this I'll def. take your advice in mind, or for future projects!

*notes as I listen*
- Gotta love funk
- Ah, the wah, nice.
- Not enough variation.
8/10, for length, 4/5, same reason.

*notes as I listen*
- Getting some crackling at the beginning.
- Cool groove, just the drums seems a bit dry.
- Bass is nice at 1:00ish
- There's barely enough change to keep my interest, seems to run a bit long
- The change at 2:32 seemed too sudden.
Not too bad, good second submission.

Pretty good job. I just felt like was "wah" effect throughout the whole piece, which made it more of a distracting effect. Maybe kick the drums up a level in volume too. Other than that it would be great.
7/10 5/5 (to help your score.)
Author's Response:
I tried to kick the drums up a bit, and all it did was fuck up my program. Maybe I'll go back and mix everything else to be quieter... And the "wah" effect pisses me off too, but with out it the piece sounds worse. I need a different sound to put in there. Unfortunately at this point the only other thing I've got is synthed stuff, and when I say synthed I mean SYNTHED (you have no idea what the original instrument was or anything). Anywho, thank you a TON for the response, and I will hopefully get around to redoing this eventually.

*notes as I listen*
- Nice piano.
- Expected a slightly more dramatic beat after the guitar intro.
- Guitar is good, just feels a bit dry.
- Feels like it needs a bit more variation. The strings help some when they come in.
Not a bad track. Good job. 8/10 5/5

*notes while I listen*
- Nice intro w/echo mallets(?)
- Nice artificial beats.
- Echo piano helps to make it more powerful, nice.
- Good call dropping the beat every now and then.

Its a nice little tune. I actually like the count in. I think it adds to the character of the piece. Sorry the artist bailed on you, that always sucks. Nice job.

*notes as I listen*
- Love the low brass.
- String staccato/choir combo is very nice.
- Nice intro of the harp, really adds to the characteristic.
- Nice powerful brass melody around 2:00. Nice way to bridge back to the beiginning motives.
- Nice brass work on the second section. Nice mysterious feel ala Elfman, Horner.
- Really good bringing the choir chords back underneath the harp/bells.
Awesome track. :)
